Industrial companies ship their containers worldwide, but lack important information about their container’s location or the status of the material inside. These processes are highly opaque, involve a large administrative effort and are immensely expensive. Packwise wants to redefine industrial packaging to make it more efficient, resourceful, and sustainable. With their smart container tracking solution, companies know exactly where their containers are and their capacity utilisation. Their plug and play solution combines hardware and software to generate new insights for industrial companies and suppliers.

Their product, the Packwise Smart Cap, creates a digital twin of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) and uses state-of-the-art geopositioning, fill level, connectivity, and ultra-low power energy consumption technologies. To provide a location position with an accuracy of +/- 20 meters both indoors and outdoors, they use several Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) along with a movement sensor. Galileo data is used for the positioning, and Global Positioning System (GPS) and GLONASS supplement its findings. Then, on the Packwise Flow platform you can see parameters such as temperature and movement, but also gain access to optimisation suggestions, such as accelerated retrieval and intelligent warehouse management solutions. This empowers companies to reduce costs, develop new business models and reduce their carbon footprint.

The Packwise plug and play tracker

Packwise’s plug and play solution combines hardware and software to generate new insights for industrial companies and suppliers. The team of 15 have backgrounds in hardware and software development, innovation management, and extensive industry expertise. They started serial production of their Smart Cap in 2021 and are looking forward to harnessing the benefits of Galileo into their solution. The Packwise digital business model provides their clients with first-rate customer service and gives them an advantage in an already highly competitive market. With their solution, companies can reduce manual workloads and costs, resulting in the most efficient supply chain organisation possible.
