Are you ready for the ultimate technology challenge?

Apply your IoT knowledge to real industry solutions!

Point.IoT encourages students, researchers, entrepreneurs and developers to apply their current IoT solutions and ideas to the test against some of these real industry challenges.

The future is already here

The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the competitive landscape and plays an increasingly significant role in our lives. IoT helps bring our digital and physical lives and interfaces closer together. There are currently more than 30 billion IoT devices in 2020 and this is expected to double in the next five years as the market for industrial IoT devices grows to €580 billion by 2025.

Galileo is Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Galileo’s improved positioning and timing information provides opportunities for the new generation of IoT technologies to make a huge difference and solve some of the biggest industrial problems and challenges.

Point.IoT is an exciting new technology challenge empowering IoT innovation with Galileo technologies. We believe these technologies provide endless opportunities for industries to make substantial improvements to their management processes. With IoT and Galileo technologies, the solutions and ideas of today can change our lives for a better tomorrow.

IoT innovation

Point.IoT encourages students, researchers, entrepreneurs and developers to apply their current IoT solutions and ideas to the test against some of these real industry challenges. We believe that young innovation has the potential to shape the future of IoT and that the next-generation of industry solutions are already being developed in the back of someone’s mind. We want to help make them a reality. If you’d like to participate in Point.IoT, check out our two challenges below and see if they align with your current ideas and solutions.

Tackle our industry challenges to win!

The Point.IoT challenges are a result of careful thought and extensive investigation into where Galileo can make a positive impact on IoT solutions. Our first challenge involves the design and development of an asset tracking and management solution for industries with large-scale infrastructure. Our second challenge focuses on designing and developing a risk and location monitoring device to improve personal safety around the workplace. If you have a solution utilising IoT and Galileo technology for personnel safety, then this is a challenge for you!

Join the Point.IoT journey!

Point.IoT offers you the support and resources you need to succeed. Successful applicants will get to experience an action-packed two-day bootcamp, a three-month technical and business sprint with mentoring, demo day and investor roadshow with access to leading industry experts along the way. There is a €20,000 cash prize for the winning team.
